Blogrolls

OP lets readers subscribe to your blogrolls

Last modified 2025-09-08

Remember when we used to make lists of links to sites we liked so people could browse? Those were Blogrolls AKA link lists AKA friend pages.

Of course, you can still do that, but OP lets you turn your list of links into a feed anyone can subscribe to via RSS or embed using Javascript.

Blog-roll example

Here are some art sites we like:

We're sure to add more, but maybe, in 2025, you won't remember to check back to see what we add. No problem, you can subscribe to the RSS feed or use it as a data source!

All you have to do to make your own is octothorpe the links on your blogroll page (ie add rel="octo:octothorpes" to your links), and then use one of the endpoints above, replacing the url at the end with the url for your blogroll page. For more about creating endpoints see the API Docs

Here's a great example in the wild -- Elle uses OP on her links page, so you can subscribe to it here. And since we linked to her here, she's in our blogroll!
